Research suggests it acts as a **peroxisomal fatty acid β-oxidation activator**; it is also described as an **inhibitor of p38-α MAPK**, suggesting potential anti-inflammatory activity[9][11][13]. Development so far is limited to preclinical and cell culture studies, particularly in the context of X-ALD.
