Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Baijin Wan is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) oral formulation manufactured by Tianjin Pharmaceutical Da Ren Tang. It is a classic multi-herb preparation primarily composed of *Alumen* (White Alum) and *Curcumae Radix* (Turmeric Root/Yu Jin). In the context of TCM theory, the drug is designed to "transform phlegm and open the orifices" (化痰开窍) and "clear the heart and resolve depression" (清心解郁). It is clinically indicated for the treatment of epilepsy, mania, and various psychiatric disorders characterized by "phlegm-fire" or phlegm-stasis obstructing the heart. The formulation leverages the astringent, phlegm-resolving properties of alum in combination with the qi-regulating and blood-cooling effects of Curcuma to address neurological and psychological symptoms.
