Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bailing Zhike Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Suzhou Chinese Medicine Research Institute for the treatment of post-infectious cough (PIC). PIC is a clinical condition where a cough persists for 3 to 8 weeks following an acute respiratory tract infection, often associated with airway hyperresponsiveness and lingering inflammation. The granules are designed to moisten the lungs, resolve phlegm, and suppress cough through the synergistic effects of multiple herbal components. Clinical development has reached Phase II in China, where the drug is being evaluated for its efficacy in reducing cough frequency and severity in patients whose symptoms persist after the initial infection has cleared.
