Baize DC is an autologous dendritic cell (DC) therapy developed by the Shanghai Cell Therapy Group. It is designed as an adjuvant immunotherapy to prevent tumor recurrence and metastasis in patients who have undergone radical surgical resection. The treatment process involves the extraction of a patient's peripheral blood mononuclear cells, which are then differentiated into dendritic cells *ex vivo*. These cells are loaded with tumor-associated antigens (often derived from the patient's own tumor lysate) and matured before being re-administered to the patient. Once injected, these activated dendritic cells migrate to lymphoid organs where they present the tumor antigens to T cells, thereby priming and expanding a systemic, tumor-specific cytotoxic T-lymphocyte response intended to eliminate residual micrometastases.
