Balansya (brand name: PrBALANSYA®) is an oral solution formulation of escitalopram (as escitalopram oxalate), a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) developed by Orimed Pharma (a subsidiary of JAMP Pharma Group). It is formulated as a 2 mg/mL oral solution and is indicated for the treatment of depression, anxiety disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Approved by Health Canada on March 4, 2026, Balansya is notable for being the only escitalopram oral solution available in Canada, providing an alternative liquid option for patients who have difficulty swallowing tablets or require precise dose titration.
