Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BALLkine-2 is a nanoparticle-based formulation of recombinant human interleukin-2 (IL-2) designed for cancer immunotherapy. Developed by Lemonex, it utilizes porous nanoparticles to deliver IL-2 peritumorally, which significantly reduces systemic exposure and toxicity compared to conventional high-dose IL-2 therapy. This approach enhances intratumoral lymphocyte infiltration without promoting regulatory T cell (Treg) development and demonstrates synergistic effects with PD-1 blockade in preclinical melanoma models. The drug aims to provide durable tumor control with fewer doses and lower systemic side effects than standard IL-2 treatments[1][3][6].
