Overview

Baloncibart (REGN7544) is an investigational humanized IgG4-kappa monoclonal antibody developed by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals that acts as an antagonist of natriuretic peptide receptor 1 (NPR1, also known as NPRA or guanylate cyclase A). By blocking NPR1, baloncibart inhibits natriuretic peptide signaling, which prevents vasodilation and decreases renal sodium excretion, thereby restoring central blood volume and increasing blood pressure. The drug is being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials for the treatment of postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) and sepsis-induced hypotension.
