**Bambermycins** are a fermentation-derived phosphoglycolipid antibiotic complex used exclusively in veterinary animal nutrition as an in-feed performance enhancer. The complex, also called flavophospholipol, acts predominantly against Gram-positive bacteria by inhibiting bacterial peptidoglycan glycosyltransferases, thereby blocking cell-wall glycan-chain synthesis. In the United States, bambermycins Type A medicated articles are approved for use in broiler chickens, growing turkeys, growing-finishing swine, and cattle to improve feed efficiency and or rate of weight gain.
