Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Banxia Baizhu Tianma formula (also known as Banxia Baizhu Tianma decoction or Tang) is a classic traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula. It is traditionally used to treat vertigo, dizziness, and headache associated with wind-phlegm syndrome and spleen deficiency. The formula typically consists of several herbal ingredients, including *Pinellia ternata* (Banxia), *Atractylodes macrocephala* (Baizhu), and *Gastrodia elata* (Tianma). In clinical trials, such as those sponsored by Shijiazhuang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a granule/particle formulation of the formula (manufactured by Shineway Pharmaceutical) is being evaluated for the treatment of acute vertigo episodes associated with posterior circulation ischemia.
