Bao He Wan is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation used to stimulate digestion, remove retained food, and regulate stomach function. It is a multi-herb product containing charred Fructus Crataegi (hawthorn), stir-baked Massa Medicata Fermentata (medicated leaven), processed Rhizoma Pinelliae (pinellia), Poria (tuckahoe), Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae (tangerine peel), Fructus Forsythiae (forsythia), stir-baked Pollen Raphani (radish seed), and stir-baked Fructus Hordei Germinatus (malt). Clinically, it is indicated for food stagnation, epigastric and abdominal distension, foul belching, acid regurgitation, and loss of appetite, which are symptoms associated with functional dyspepsia and indigestion. It is an approved product in the portfolio of Pingguang Pharmaceutical.
