Overview
Bao Yuan Capsule (BYC) is a patented Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula originally developed by the Chinese PLA General Hospital (301 Hospital) and commercialized by Beijing Red Wall Biological Engineering. It is composed of four key herbal ingredients: *Cordyceps sinensis*, *Astragalus membranaceus*, *Panax ginseng*, and *Panax notoginseng*. Traditionally used for health promotion, anti-aging, and immunomodulation, recent research from the University of Hong Kong has demonstrated its potential neuroprotective and neurogenic effects. In preclinical models of ischemic stroke, Bao Yuan Capsule has been shown to promote neurogenesis and neurological functional recovery by improving mitochondrial function, reducing oxidative stress, and activating the PI3K/Akt/beta-catenin signaling pathway.
