Overview
Baoji Wan (保济丸), also known as Po Chai Pills, is a traditional Chinese medicine formula composed of multiple herbal ingredients. It is primarily used for the relief of digestive symptoms such as indigestion, heartburn, vomiting, diarrhea, bloating, and discomfort in the stomach and intestines. It is also commonly used to alleviate symptoms associated with food poisoning and motion sickness and may be taken to prevent or relieve hangover effects. The formula works by expelling dampness and harmonizing the middle energizer (spleen/stomach) according to Traditional Chinese Medicine theory. Its mechanism involves antiemetic (anti-nausea), antidiarrheal effects as well as promoting digestion through a combination of herbs that regulate gastrointestinal function[1][2][3][4][6].
