Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Baoshenfang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by the Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of diabetic nephropathy (DN). It is specifically indicated for patients with stage IV DN who exhibit the TCM syndromes of deficiency of both qi and yin and blood stasis blocking collaterals. The formula is designed to intervene in podocyte high glucose memory, a pathological state where podocytes continue to exhibit damage-related signaling even after glycemic control is achieved. By targeting this metabolic memory, Baoshenfang aims to reduce proteinuria, protect the glomerular filtration barrier, and slow the progression of renal dysfunction in patients with type 2 diabetes.
