Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Baoxianzi (also known as the Insurance Pill or Safety Pill) is a small, concentrated red pill traditionally included in the packaging of Yunnan Baiyao, a proprietary Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). While the full formula of Yunnan Baiyao is a protected state secret in China, it is primarily composed of *Panax notoginseng* and other herbal extracts. Baoxianzi is traditionally reserved for emergency situations involving severe trauma, hemorrhage, or shock to prevent collapse. Recent clinical investigations, such as those conducted by Henan Cancer Hospital, are evaluating the efficacy of Baoxianzi when used in combination with standard Yunnan Baiyao capsules for the relief of mild to moderate cancer-related pain, potentially leveraging its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties.
