Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Baoxin Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Institute of Chinese Materia Medica at the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences for the treatment of chronic heart failure (CHF). It is specifically designed to treat patients with the TCM syndrome of Qi deficiency and blood stasis. The granules are composed of several herbal extracts, including *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huangqi), *Salvia miltiorrhiza* (Danshen), *Panax ginseng* (Renshen), and *Descurainia sophia* (Tinglizi). The therapeutic mechanism involves improving myocardial energy metabolism, enhancing cardiac contractility, and inhibiting ventricular remodeling by modulating inflammatory cytokines and fibrotic pathways. Clinical studies in China have demonstrated that Baoxin Granules can improve the New York Heart Association (NYHA) functional class, increase the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), and enhance the quality of life in patients with stable chronic heart failure.
