Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Baqi Rougan Fang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula developed for the treatment of liver fibrosis, particularly in chronic hepatitis B patients. It is composed of several medicinal herbs, with Radix Morindae Officinalis (Bajitian) and Radix Astragali (Huangqi) serving as key ingredients. The formula is designed to exert its therapeutic effects by tonifying the kidney and spleen, replenishing qi, activating blood circulation, removing blood stasis, clearing heat, and detoxifying the body. Preclinical studies suggest it reduces hepatocyte damage, inhibits inflammation, and promotes anti-fibrotic processes by decreasing the activity of hepatic stellate cells and extracellular matrix deposition, and by modulating endoplasmic reticulum stress, apoptosis, and autophagy.
