Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Baracle is an antiviral medication developed by Dong-A ST Co., Ltd. It is a generic version of entecavir, a guanosine nucleoside analog, primarily indicated for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Entecavir functions by inhibiting the HBV polymerase, thereby interfering with the viral replication process at multiple stages, including base priming, reverse transcription of the negative strand of messenger RNA, and synthesis of the positive strand of HBV DNA. It is administered orally in tablet form.
