Barleria prattensis petroleum ether extract is a natural product research compound derived from the leaves of *Barleria prattensis Santapau*, a plant species endemic to Gujarat, India. The extract is obtained through Soxhlet extraction using petroleum ether as the solvent and contains several bioactive compounds, including squalene, phytol, neophytadiene, and β-sitosterol. In preclinical laboratory studies, the extract has demonstrated significant cytotoxic activity against the MCF-7 breast cancer cell line, with an IC50 value of 60.1 μg/mL, and has been shown to induce apoptotic morphological changes in treated cells. Additionally, it possesses antioxidant properties. It is currently being investigated for its potential as a plant-based therapy for breast cancer and oxidative stress-related disorders.
