Barrier Extreme is a topical skin repair formulation developed through a collaboration between West China Hospital, Sichuan University, and Yunnan Botanee Bio-Technology Group. It is specifically indicated for the management of sensitive skin, acne, and rosacea. The product's mechanism of action involves the restoration of the skin's lipid barrier and the reduction of neurogenic inflammation. Key active ingredients include *Portulaca oleracea* extract, which acts as an antagonist to the TRPV1 receptor to alleviate itching and burning sensations, and *Prinsepia utilis* oil, which provides essential fatty acids to repair the stratum corneum. Clinical studies conducted at West China Hospital have demonstrated its efficacy as both a standalone treatment and an adjuvant therapy to reduce the side effects of topical medications and laser procedures.
