Overview

BaseTIL-02L is an autologous adoptive cell therapy consisting of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) developed by the University Hospital Basel for the treatment of advanced, pre-treated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The therapy involves the ex vivo expansion of T lymphocytes harvested from a patient's own tumor tissue. These cells are grown in the presence of interleukin-2 (IL-2) to reach therapeutic numbers and then reinfused into the patient following a lymphodepleting chemotherapy regimen of cyclophosphamide and fludarabine. Post-infusion, patients receive high-dose IL-2 (Aldesleukin) to promote the expansion and persistence of the TILs in vivo. This personalized immunotherapy approach aims to utilize the patient's own immune system to recognize and eliminate cancer cells by targeting a broad range of tumor-specific antigens.
