Overview

BAT7111 is a bispecific monoclonal antibody developed by Bio-Thera Solutions that simultaneously targets Programmed Cell Death Protein 1 (PD-1) and 4-1BB (CD137, Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor Superfamily Member 9). It is designed for the treatment of advanced solid tumors and various other cancers. BAT7111 employs a dual mechanism of action: it acts as a checkpoint inhibitor by blocking the PD-1 pathway to prevent T-cell exhaustion, while concurrently serving as an agonist for the 4-1BB costimulatory receptor to provide an activation signal that enhances T-cell proliferation and effector function. This synergistic approach is intended to overcome the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment and generate a more robust and sustained anti-tumor immune response compared to monotherapy targeting either pathway alone.
