Overview

BAT7205 is an investigational bifunctional fusion protein developed by Bio-Thera Solutions for the treatment of locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors. It consists of an anti-programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) monoclonal antibody fused to an interleukin-15 (IL-15) and IL-15 receptor alpha (IL-15Rα) sushi domain. This dual-action molecule is designed to simultaneously block the PD-1/PD-L1 immunosuppressive checkpoint and provide targeted IL-15-mediated immune stimulation. By binding to PD-L1, BAT7205 localizes IL-15 directly to the tumor microenvironment, where it activates tumor-infiltrating CD8+ T cells and natural killer (NK) cells, potentially enhancing antitumor efficacy while minimizing systemic toxicity associated with recombinant IL-15.
