Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BAT8003 is an investigational antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) developed by Bio-Thera Solutions. It targets Trop-2 (tumor-associated calcium signal transducer 2), a transmembrane glycoprotein overexpressed in various epithelial cancers, including triple-negative breast cancer and gastric cancer. The drug consists of a monoclonal antibody engineered for site-specific conjugation to the cytotoxic payload Batansine via a non-cleavable linker, resulting in a more homogeneous product and improved safety profile. Upon binding to Trop-2 on tumor cells, BAT8003 is internalized and releases its cytotoxic payload intracellularly, leading to inhibition of tubulin polymerization and cell mitosis, ultimately inducing apoptosis in cancer cells. Preclinical studies have shown potent anti-tumor activity in models of Trop-2-overexpressing tumors[5][4][9].
