Bauhinia variegata acetone soluble extract is a specific herbal preparation derived from the leaves of the *Bauhinia variegata* plant, commonly known as Kachnar. It has been investigated for its neuroprotective potential, particularly in preclinical animal models of Parkinson's disease. The extract demonstrates significant antioxidant activity by reducing lipid peroxidation and increasing the levels of endogenous antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione (GSH), and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) in brain tissue. In behavioral studies using reserpine-induced catalepsy in rats, the extract at a dose of 800 mg/kg was shown to improve locomotion and reduce muscular rigidity, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic agent for managing neurodegenerative conditions associated with oxidative stress and dopamine depletion.
