BAY 1834942 (tinurilimab) is a humanized immunoglobulin G subclass 2 (IgG2) monoclonal antibody developed by Bayer that targets carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 6 (CEACAM6, also known as CD66c). CEACAM6 is an immune checkpoint regulator that is frequently overexpressed in various solid tumors, where it acts to suppress the activity of effector T cells. By binding to CEACAM6, BAY 1834942 blocks its immunosuppressive interaction with CEACAM1 on activated T cells, thereby restoring the immune system's ability to mount an antitumor response. The drug was evaluated in a Phase I clinical trial for patients with advanced solid tumors, including non-small cell lung adenocarcinoma, colorectal carcinoma, gastric adenocarcinoma, and pancreatic cancer. However, the clinical development of BAY 1834942 was discontinued following the termination of the initial study.
