Overview

BAY1830839 is a selective small molecule inhibitor of interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase 4 (IRAK4), developed by Bayer. It is structurally related to zabedosertib (BAY1834845) and was designed for immunomodulatory potential, with oral administration supported by its pharmacokinetic profile[1][2][5]. Preclinical and early clinical studies demonstrated that BAY1830839 suppresses both systemically and locally induced inflammatory responses, including inhibition of TNF-α release in ex vivo assays and reduction of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-23 in animal models[2][5]. The drug has been investigated primarily for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis but has also been considered for oncology indications like diffuse large B-cell lymphoma[7].
