Bayovac

Bayovac is a brand of veterinary vaccines originally developed by Bayer Animal Health, which was acquired by Elanco in 2020. The product line encompasses a variety of immunobiologicals designed for livestock, particularly swine and cattle. One of its most prominent applications is the prevention of Classical Swine Fever (CSF) using live-attenuated virus strains, such as the C-strain. Other formulations under the Bayovac name target bovine respiratory and reproductive diseases, including Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR), Bovine Viral Diarrhea (BVD), and Parainfluenza-3 (PI3). These vaccines work by stimulating the animal's immune system to produce specific antibodies and memory cells, thereby providing protection against subsequent natural infections and reducing the economic impact of disease outbreaks in agricultural settings. The brand includes both monovalent and polyvalent formulations, often delivered via intramuscular or subcutaneous injection.
