Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bazhen Peiyuan Decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula being investigated for the treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). It is a modified version of the classic Bazhen Decoction (Eight Treasures Decoction), which is traditionally used to replenish both Qi and Blood. The 'Peiyuan' aspect of the formula indicates a specific therapeutic focus on 'cultivating the original' (Yuan Qi), aiming to address the underlying systemic deficiencies and functional exhaustion characteristic of CFS. The decoction is currently being evaluated in randomized controlled trials sponsored by Yueyang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine to establish high-level clinical evidence for its efficacy, safety, and prognosis within standardized TCM diagnosis and treatment protocols.
