Overview

Bazhen Peiyuan Tang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula derived from the classic Eight Treasures Decoction (Bazhen Tang). It is composed of multiple herbal ingredients, typically including Panax ginseng, Atractylodes macrocephala, Poria cocos, Glycyrrhiza uralensis, Angelica sinensis, Paeonia lactiflora, Ligusticum chuanxiong, and Rehmannia glutinosa, often with additional tonifying agents. The formula is primarily indicated for the treatment of Qi and Blood deficiency syndromes, characterized by fatigue, pallor, and weakness. In modern clinical practice, it is frequently utilized as an adjuvant therapy for cancer patients to mitigate the side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, such as leukopenia, anemia, and immune suppression. The formula is thought to work through multi-target effects that enhance hematopoietic function and modulate the immune response.
