Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bazhentang (Ba Zhen Tang) is a classic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula composed of eight herbal ingredients: *Panax ginseng* (Ren Shen), *Atractylodes macrocephala* (Bai Zhu), *Poria cocos* (Fu Ling), *Glycyrrhiza uralensis* (Gan Cao), *Rehmannia glutinosa* (Shu Di Huang), *Angelica sinensis* (Dang Gui), *Paeonia lactiflora* (Bai Shao), and *Ligusticum chuanxiong* (Chuan Xiong). It is traditionally used to tonify both Qi and Blood, addressing symptoms of deficiency such as fatigue, pale complexion, and dizziness. In modern clinical research, it is being evaluated as an adjunctive therapy for chronic periodontitis, particularly when integrated with non-surgical periodontal treatments to improve clinical outcomes through its potential anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects.
