BB-202 is a novel bispecific antibody designed to simultaneously target Programmed Cell Death Protein 1 (PD-1) and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor A (VEGFA). Developed by Borgent, the molecule features a unique structural configuration comprising pembrolizumab-derived Fab regions and anti-VEGF VHH (nanobody) fragments fused to a human IgG1 Fc domain. This design is intended to combine the immune checkpoint inhibitory effects of PD-1 blockade with the anti-angiogenic and tumor-vasculature-normalizing effects of VEGF inhibition. Preclinical data presented at the AACR 2026 meeting demonstrated that BB-202 possesses high PD-1 binding affinity and potent VEGFA blockade, exhibiting superior human T-cell activation and anti-tumor efficacy in xenograft models of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) compared to other bispecific antibodies like ivonescimab. BB-202 is currently being positioned as a therapeutic candidate for the treatment of various solid tumors.
