Overview

BB206 is a subcutaneous reformulation of flumazenil being developed by Bexson Biomedical for the treatment of benzodiazepine addiction. Flumazenil is a competitive antagonist at the benzodiazepine binding site of the GABA-A receptor, typically used to reverse benzodiazepine-induced sedation. BB206 utilizes Bexson's proprietary SEVALENT™ technology platform, which is designed to enable the subcutaneous delivery of small molecules that are otherwise difficult to formulate for this route. The therapy is intended for administration via a wearable on-body delivery system to provide controlled, steady-state dosing. This approach aims to manage withdrawal symptoms and facilitate the tapering process for patients with benzodiazepine dependence, addressing a significant unmet need in addiction medicine.
