Overview

BB90X is an intramuscular formulation of the antifibrinolytic small molecule tranexamic acid, currently in development by Bexson Biomedical for hemorrhage control on the battlefield. Designed for use with the AKESO ruggedized on-body wearable delivery device, BB90X aims to provide rapid, reliable intramuscular administration of tranexamic acid to control bleeding in contested environments without requiring intravenous access. Tranexamic acid works by competitively and reversibly binding to plasminogen, preventing its activation to plasmin and subsequent degradation of fibrin clots, thereby stabilizing clots and reducing blood loss.
