BBB-001 is a preclinical-stage investigational therapy developed by ELVESCA Biotherapeutics for the treatment of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). The drug employs a specialized antibody-targeted nanocarrier delivery system designed to achieve precision delivery of its therapeutic payload. The system utilizes an anti-CD33 antibody as a targeting ligand to selectively bind to CD33-expressing AML cells. The active therapeutic component is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to mediate the knockdown of DNA methyltransferase 3 alpha (DNMT3A), an enzyme frequently mutated or dysregulated in AML that plays a critical role in leukemogenesis.
