BBB-003 is a preclinical-stage therapeutic candidate being developed by ELVESCA Biotherapeutics, a German biotech company founded as a spin-off from the University of Münster. This experimental therapy utilizes a small interfering RNA (siRNA) modality delivered via an antibody-targeted nanocarrier system. The drug is designed to knock down KRAS expression in tumor cells through siRNA-mediated gene silencing. The delivery system employs an anti-EGFR antibody to specifically target and deliver the siRNA payload to EGFR-expressing cancer cells, enabling selective therapeutic action. BBB-003 is being developed for the treatment of multiple solid tumor types including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), colorectal cancer, and pancreatic carcinoma, which are commonly driven by KRAS mutations. The therapeutic approach combines targeted delivery with gene silencing technology to achieve precision medicine for difficult-to-treat KRAS-driven cancers.
