Overview

This refers to the co-administration of three distinct vaccines: an inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine (specifically Sinopharm's BBIBP-CorV), a quadrivalent inactivated influenza vaccine (QIV), and a 23-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PPSV23). This regimen was evaluated in a Phase 4 clinical trial led by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention to assess the safety and immunogenicity of simultaneous administration compared to separate administration. The goal of such co-administration is to improve vaccination coverage and efficiency during respiratory virus seasons. The COVID-19 component provides immunity against SARS-CoV-2, the influenza component against four seasonal flu strains, and the pneumococcal component against 23 serotypes of Streptococcus pneumoniae.
