BBM-D101 is an investigational recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) vector-based gene therapy developed by Belief BioMed for the treatment of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). The therapy utilizes an engineered AAV capsid to deliver a functional dystrophin gene cassette directly into muscle tissue via a single intravenous infusion. Once delivered, the gene cassette expresses a therapeutic protein designed to mediate the dystrophin-associated protein complex, thereby stabilizing the sarcolemma of muscle fibers, preventing progressive muscular dystrophy, and potentially rescuing muscle function in patients with DMD.
