Overview

BBM002 is an investigational adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector-based gene therapy developed by Belief BioMed for the treatment of hemophilia A. The therapy is designed to deliver a functional copy of the human coagulation factor VIII (FVIII) gene to the liver cells of patients. By enabling the endogenous production and secretion of FVIII, BBM002 aims to restore blood clotting function and provide a long-term therapeutic effect, potentially reducing or eliminating the need for regular prophylactic factor replacement infusions. It is administered as a single-dose intravenous infusion and is currently being evaluated in clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and efficacy in adult patients with severe or moderate-to-severe hemophilia A.
