Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BBT001 is a novel, half-life extended tetravalent bispecific antibody developed by Bambusa Therapeutics for the treatment of atopic dermatitis and potentially other inflammatory skin diseases. It simultaneously targets interleukin-4 receptor alpha (IL-4Rα) and interleukin-31 (IL-31), two clinically validated but non-overlapping pathways implicated in the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis. By engaging both targets, BBT001 aims to deliver faster onset of symptom relief, superior efficacy, and improved dosing convenience compared to currently approved biologics for atopic dermatitis. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials with initial studies underway in Australia and the United States[1][2][3][5][9].
