Overview

BC LisPram is a fixed-ratio combination drug consisting of two approved hormone analogs for the treatment of diabetes. It combines the rapid-acting insulin analog lispro and the amylin analog pramlintide in a single formulation using Adocia’s proprietary BioChaperone technology to stabilize both peptides in solution. The product is designed for use with insulin pumps as a prandial (mealtime) therapy for people with type 1 diabetes. The rationale behind this coformulation is to deliver both hormones simultaneously via one pump, improving glycemic control after meals and reducing patient burden compared to separate injections or infusions. Pramlintide addition has been shown to improve postprandial glucose control, induce weight loss, and increase satiety. Adocia developed this formulation specifically to address underuse of pramlintide due to its inconvenient dosing requirements when administered separately[1][2][7][9].
