Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BC005 is a humanized monoclonal antibody (mAb) targeting the interleukin-4 receptor (IL-4R), developed by Dragon Boat Pharmaceutical, a subsidiary of Guilin Sanjin Pharmaceutical. By binding to IL-4R, BC005 inhibits the signaling pathways of both IL-4 and IL-13, which are key drivers of Type 2 (Th2) inflammation. The drug is primarily indicated for the treatment of asthma and moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis. BC005 features an optimized Fc sequence for an extended half-life and a high-concentration formulation (150 mg/mL) to support convenient dosing. It has successfully completed Phase I clinical trials and is currently undergoing Phase II development.
