Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BC2027 is a first-in-class antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) developed by BioCity Biopharma. It targets glypican 3 (GPC3), a proteoglycan found on the outer membrane of certain cancer cells. BC2027 binds with high affinity to GPC3 and is efficiently internalized into cancer cells, where it releases its cytotoxic payload to directly kill the targeted cells. Additionally, it exhibits a "bystander effect," enabling it to kill neighboring cancer cells that may not express GPC3. Preclinical studies have shown robust anticancer activity and favorable safety and tolerability profiles, with greater than 90% inhibition of tumor growth in some models. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical development for solid tumors[1][2][3][4][5][6].
