Overview

BC3402 + azacitidine is a combination investigational therapy being evaluated for safety, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and efficacy in patients with higher-risk myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML)[1][3]. BC3402 is a novel agent (precise mechanism not disclosed in public trial records) and azacitidine is a DNA demethylating small molecule used to treat bone marrow disorders; azacitidine inhibits DNA methyltransferase and incorporates into RNA and DNA to exert anti-neoplastic and cytotoxic effects[2][6]. The combination is administered intravenously in clinical trials targeting patients ineligible for stem cell transplantation[1][3].
