Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BC923 (also known as YJH-014) is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic developed for the treatment of hypertension. It is designed to target angiotensinogen (AGT) mRNA in the liver, thereby silencing AGT expression at its source and inhibiting the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) pathway. By reducing AGT levels, BC923 aims to provide sustained and stable blood pressure reduction with potentially extended dosing intervals. The drug was co-developed through a strategic partnership between Youjia (Hangzhou) Biomedical Technology Co., Ltd. (Youjia Bio) and Sichuan Luzhou Buchang Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Buchang Bio), with its Investigational New Drug (IND) application accepted by the China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) Center for Drug Evaluation (CDE) in August 2026 and approved in October 2026.
