Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Combination of **BCD-020**, a biosimilar of rituximab (a chimeric anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody targeting CD20 on B lymphocytes), and **methotrexate**, a folate antagonist antimetabolite with anti-inflammatory and antineoplastic activity. This combination is investigated for the treatment of conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, leveraging BCD-020 for B cell depletion and methotrexate as an immunosuppressant and disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug. BCD-020 is developed to be highly similar to originator rituximab in pharmacokinetics, efficacy, safety, and immunogenicity. Methotrexate inhibits dihydrofolate reductase, disrupting nucleotide synthesis and immune cell proliferation[1][2][3][4][6][7][9].
