Overview

BCD-080 is a biosimilar version of enoxaparin sodium, a low molecular weight heparin anticoagulant developed by Biocad for the prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolic events, including deep vein thrombosis, particularly in patients undergoing major orthopedic surgery such as hip or knee replacement.[5][2][11] Like reference enoxaparin (Clexane), it potentiates antithrombin III–mediated inhibition of coagulation factor Xa (and to a lesser extent factor IIa), thereby reducing thrombin generation and fibrin clot formation, and has been evaluated in clinical studies designed to demonstrate equivalence in efficacy and safety to Clexane for postoperative thromboprophylaxis.[5][1][2]
