Overview
BCD-100 + pemetrexed + cisplatin + carboplatin is a combination regimen including a monoclonal anti-PD-1 antibody (BCD-100, also known as prolgolimab), the antifolate chemotherapy pemetrexed, and the platinum-based chemotherapeutic agents cisplatin and carboplatin. BCD-100 inhibits PD-1, a checkpoint protein on T cells, thereby enhancing T cell–mediated immune responses against cancer. Pemetrexed blocks multiple enzymes in the folate pathway (including thymidylate synthase, dihydrofolate reductase, and glycinamide ribonucleotide formyl transferase), inhibiting DNA and RNA synthesis in rapidly dividing cells. Cisplatin and carboplatin form DNA crosslinks, inducing DNA damage and apoptosis in cancer cells. This combination is being investigated in advanced cancers, particularly cervical cancer in clinical trials, as a potential immunochemotherapy strategy[1][3][4][5][6].
