Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BCD-178 is a biosimilar version of pertuzumab (Perjeta®) being developed by Biocad for the treatment of breast cancer. It is a humanized recombinant monoclonal antibody directed against the extracellular dimerization domain of the HER2 tyrosine kinase receptor. BCD-178 works through two primary mechanisms: as a HER2 antagonist by inhibiting HER2 dimerization and through antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC). The drug is specifically being developed for HER2-positive breast cancer treatment.
