BCD-201

BCD-201 (Pembroria) is a biosimilar version of pembrolizumab, a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor. Developed by the biotechnology company Biocad, BCD-201 functions as an immune checkpoint inhibitor. By binding to PD-1 on T-cells, it blocks the interaction with its ligands, PD-L1 and PD-L2, which are often expressed by tumor cells to evade immune detection. This blockade restores the ability of the immune system to recognize and attack cancer cells. BCD-201 is primarily indicated for the treatment of advanced malignancies, including metastatic melanoma and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Clinical trials have demonstrated that BCD-201 possesses pharmacokinetic equivalence and a safety profile comparable to the reference medicinal product, Keytruda.
