BCD-248

BCD-248 is a bispecific monoclonal antibody developed by Biocad for the treatment of multiple myeloma. It functions as a bispecific T-cell engager (BiTE), targeting both B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) on myeloma cells and CD3 on T-cells. By binding to these two targets, BCD-248 brings T-cells into close proximity with malignant plasma cells, stimulating T-cell activation and cytotoxicity against the cancer cells. The drug is administered subcutaneously and has been engineered with mutations to improve pharmacokinetics and reduce severe adverse events. Its primary indication is for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, where it aims to provide targeted immunotherapy by leveraging the patient’s own immune system[1][2][3][4].
